(May 1, 2010) – TorontoMuslims.com, the site where many Muslims go find out what is happening in the community, has launched a new version of its website.
“This web 2.0 ready website will not only keep you informed, but it will inspire you and allow you to share your experiences, resources, and feedback on regular basis,” according to the website.
The site was launched in 2001 and soon became the central portal for organizations to list their events.
It also distinguished itself for compiling mosques and their prayer times in the Greater Toronto Area, information that proved to be especially useful during Ramadan for a diverse and highly dispersed ommunity.
“While we never claimed to be an umbrella organization attempting to unite the Toronto Muslim community, we did realize the potential of this service in bringing community stakeholders together and helping them connect and communicate for the first time,” according to the website.
