“Together for Canada” Campaign Marks Islamic History Month 2025

A new campaign, “Together for Canada,” has launched to mark Canadian Islamic History Month 2025.
The initiative aims to celebrate Muslim contributions to the country while raising awareness about Islamophobia.
According to Amira Elghawaby, Canada’s Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia, the campaign features a video series highlighting the lived experiences of Canadian Muslims.
The stories focus on resilience, belonging, and community, with the goal of fostering greater understanding.
“This month is an invitation to unity and allyship, to help each other succeed and ensure everyone has a chance to thrive,” Elghawaby said.
The campaign builds on earlier efforts, including a 2023 focus on Muslim women and girls and a 2024 project celebrating generations of Canadian Muslims.
It also connects to the government’s broader Guide to Understanding and Combating Islamophobia.
With Muslims now representing nearly five percent of Canada’s population, organizers say the month offers a chance to recognize their cultural, civic, and economic contributions — and to reflect on how to build a more inclusive future.
