Funeral for Sharif Rahman to be held today in Owen Sound

A funeral is planned for Sharif Rahman, who owned The Curry House. He passed away on Thursday after a serious attack in Owen Sound.

The service will be held this afternoon at the Owen Sound Muslim Association at 895 7th St. E. A prayer for him will start at 2 p.m., followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery. S

Some people will stand along the route from the Muslim Association to the cemetery to show respect.

Tonight, at 8 p.m. at city hall, residents will walk through the downtown area to support business owners and remember Rahman.

The police shared photos of two men related to the August 17 homicide. They're looking for three Caucasian men. The vehicle they used is similar to a gray or blue 2000s Ford Escape or Mazda Tribute.

The first man is Caucasian, medium height, with dark hair, and was wearing a blue T-shirt, black shorts, and black running shoes. The second man is Caucasian, medium height, with short brown hair, and was wearing an orange T-shirt, black shorts, and black running shoes. Both are in their mid-20s to mid-30s.

The third man is older, Caucasian, with curly hair, wearing shorts and a T-shirt. He's in his late 40s to mid-50s.

Rahman is fondly remembered as a well-liked figure within the urban business circles. Following his unfortunate demise, he leaves behind his wife and children, who are now in mourning.

The incident of his attack and eventual passing has triggered a remarkable surge of sympathy and backing for both him and his family. Rahman, hailing from Bangladesh, pursued studies in economics and later achieved a master's degree in international development from the University of Glasgow.

In 2015, he made a significant move by acquiring The Curry House in Owen Sound.
