Mohamad Fakih, President of Paramount Fine Foods and Founder of the Fakih Foundation, has launched a campaign to collect funds for the Iran crash victims of Flight 752.

Moved by this tragedy and wanting to pay tribute to the lives lost, many Canadians have been learning the names of the victims and reading their personal stories he said at the launch of the fund today in Toronto.

“In the coming days and weeks, the families of the 57 victims from across Canada will face a number of expenses,” said Mohamad Fakih. “We are now encouraging Canadians to support the families of the victims by making a donation.”

“With oversight from Dentons Canada LLP, all donations will flow through our supporter, Toronto Foundation, and will be granted to those affected,” he added. “This is a time for all Canadians regardless of race or religion, to come together and show the world what it means to be Canadian.”

Fakih said that he hopes that $1.5 million can be raised through the fund.

He says that he will personally cover any administrative expenses so that all future donations go directly to the family of victims.
