(February 25, 2014) *– Et voilà! Le voile musulman dévoilé* is an exhibition at the Musée des religions du monde in Nicolet, Quebec, that presents, through video, photographs and quotations,the first-person perspectives of a diverse group of Muslim women in Quebec who choose to wear the veil

The Musée des religions du monde is a research and cultural venue dedicated to the preservation, study and dissemination of Canada’s and Quebec’s multi-faith heritage, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit spiritual traditions.

In the video below, which is part of *Et voilà! Le voile musulman dévoilé*, a young Muslim woman shares her views on identity: “Identity is not a fixed entity. Categorization confines us to a small box, too small to permit each individual’s uniqueness to be seen. I want my veil to be one facet of my personality, not my entire personality. Most of all, I don’t want to stifle my Quebecois identity. The two go hand in hand.”
